Domestic cup time. A semifinal played over each of the next two days. The first of the lot takes place today, features two of England’s top-six clubs, Manchester United and Tottenham.

These two clubs like Chelsea are looking for silverware in this competition. Like Chelsea, the two have seen themselves bow out of the title race, and the Champions League, as well as early elimination from the Carabao Cup. The FA Cup is the last shot at any honours for the clubs who are supposed to be taking them without failure.

Spurs has seen no success and a handful of disappointments, by usually not making it future than the semis. Whereas Man United has seen recent success in this cup. The FA Cup is known for always falling in the clutches of United or Arsenal – will there be a different holder this season?

This has been a year of change and seen others look more likely to fill their trophy-cabinet, than the normal lot. A real mouth-watering clash is promised to take place after these two met twice already this season.

The first meeting between the two went to Jose’s men inside Old Trafford, but was far from your usual United display of efficiency and control. As for the for the second meeting between the two – it was well worked and went in favour of Spurs, inside Wembley.

This has to be the one attribute counting heavily in favour of Tottenham. They’ve used Wembley as their home away from home this season, and have really made it a difficult place and try to come get a result. But it has been done before.

Both teams midweek fixtures had different showing. Spurs, lucky to get even a point from their Brighton fixture. Whereas United, bounced back comfortably, after their West Brom shock.

Major talking points happening ahead of the important FA Cup fixture

Early in the week many reports came out where the Red Devil’s manager was caught saying, nobody should think their spot is secure in the team, with him suggesting – many changes will be made in the starting eleven.

Goalkeeper David de Gea has been named captain by the manager as he stuck by his word of changes being made. This could see players like Anthony Martial and others on the fringe – get an irregular start to an important tie.

For Spurs, the injury problems continue with Mauricio having a headache about what to do. Many talking points coming from this fixture alone. To predict this one will be a hard call and a foolish one to say… you know who the winner is here.

I’m going for a Manchester United victory, all because of Jose knowing how to secure at least one trophy.
