One of United’s most promising attackers has been alienated by the media after continues talks of him having, or wanting to leave the club because of lack of game time.

Marcus Rashford has been the most followed Devil after talks and rumours surfaced the player is unhappy about game time under Jose Mourinho and now wants out. What adds fuel to this already vibrant fire – Marcus has put a hold on his contract talks with the club.

The talks got to a point, forcing Jose to come out and expressed publicly  – how Rashford has and always will be a part of the manager’s plan. It’s always something to consider when you have Jose involved, so one cannot be criticised for following this with an open mind.

In saying this, all the stats since Mourinho has arrived at Old Trafford paints a totally different picture. The player I see sit out more over his teammate is, Jesse Lingard.

The two has seen game time this season and when taking part, normally rewards Jose with goals, or at least a key factor to the goals being put in by the Devils. In all fairness – the two mostly do come off the bench, usually having a massive impact on the game.

The two Englishman’s presence on the pitch is always felt and when they don’t come to the party, it comes across as a bit discouraging. That’s how well these two have being doing this campaign.

The big debate – should Rashford stay or should go?

Lingard’s 39 appearances compared to Rashford’s 44 this season, sheds a different light to what’s being said. So to say his game time has been limited would be wide off the mark. The driving factor in this entire debate – should the Englishman [Rashford] be starting more often rather than coming off the bench?

The answer to that is simple – yes he should be starting. One of Mourinho’s best players during last season should be starting over his record-breaking transfer, Lukaku. The big Belgian forward has been below standards and has not done a job as Marcus has.

The Englishman has been brilliant since breaking into the first team and should have had his place secured after last season’s heroics. This is the first reason Rashford should leave Old Trafford. The other would be – Jose is not known for bringing up top-talents and rather loaning them out, and watch them develop at another arena.

It’s become so bad with the Portuguese manager, Chelsea has become the biggest laughing-stock because of players leaving the club to go on and become world-beaters at another. Two current examples of this are, Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah.

The young attacker must be looking at these two as perfect examples of players not waiting around under Mourinho’s stewardship. Move on, learn more, and prosper in one of the biggest leagues in the game.

So the only way to end this saga is, think if the pros outweigh the cons for this young man. Progress will never stop if he was to leave. He just needs to think… Is it Manchester United where he wants to be, or is it at a new club with guaranteed starts the option for him.
