The biggest factor in City’s title win this year was consistency. Game after game, City would win. Even when they stopped blowing teams out of the water, they would find a way to get the three points. It is the hallmark of a title-winning side.

With Man United, it has been a Jekyll and Hyde season. No one is sure which United will turn up. It could be the one that stunned City or the one that meekly folded to West Brom. They can also rightly be accused of complacency. We saw that this past weekend and in the second leg against Sevilla. In both instances, they played as though all they had to do was turn up and a win would occur.

Mourinho needs to stamp out these performances and ensure that his team is always ready to go. When they are motivated, they have proven that they can beat anyone in the league. On the flip side, when United do not try, they have shown that they are bad enough to lose to anyone.
