The defender has been at the peak of all transfer rumours concerning Manchester United. The English club has been unlucky with major injuries to defenders in the first team, so you can understand why this man.

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones has been sidelined for long periods and has certainly hampered Jose’s quest for trophies this season. The rumour makes sense only for the team on the receiving end of the transfer.

For the player himself – it would be a step backwards from the sanctuary he his taking up his trade in currently. Barcelona’s unbeaten run in La Liga, plus their progress in the Champions League – contributes affirmation for this.

Players do still dream of one day playing for a team of United’s statue, but not if you taking a step down from a club doing so well in Europe and domestically.

There has been reports – the player has an agreement in place where a new contract will be handed out at the beginning of next season. This alone takes the possibility of a transfer out the window and makes it less likely to happen.

Depending heavily on the contract, I don’t see this one happening.
