The only two games played on sunday was far from the Super Sunday we would normally be treated to. However, both games were far from boring and entertained well on the last day of Matchday 33.

Two fixtures associated with teams fighting for survival and others trying to secure European football. Talking points rising from the two results were, Chelsea looked most plausible to miss out on Champions League after the weekend when they failed to get another result at Stamford Bridge.

The other, how Arsenal found it hard to put the game to bed against Southampton but still managed to gather all three points when they played their fixture out. Two games played, seven goals scored, and only one team collected three points was exactly the outcome of the day.

After the weekend’s results the Saints looked more and more likely to get the relegation card, all while David Moyes’ Hammers, kept their hopes alive after a great draw against Conte’s men.

Arsenal… Slightly lucky. Chelsea… Slightly unlucky.

Both teams who sit in the top six are more than likely the ones who will not take part on the centre stage, Champions League next season. Both have failed in their quest, with the Gunners the only ones who have an outside chance thanks to the Europa League.

Let’s take a look at what went down on ‘Small Sunday’.
