English Premier League: Matchday 31 Saturday Roundup
By Orri Benatar
Stoke City 1-2 Everton
No goals were scored in the first 45 in snow-covered Stoke. A red card highlighted the first half when Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam was sent off for a late challenge on Wayne Rooney in the 30th minute.
Everton opened up the game with a man advantage as Cenk Tosun gave the Toffees the lead. Eric Maxim Chupo-Moting’s equalizer eight minutes later wasn’t enough. Cenk Tosun scored again and secured the win at the Bet365. Tosun has scored four in his last three matches. He is also the first Turkish player to score a Premier League brace since Tuncay in 2008.
Stoke remain in 19th place with the loss and will next play Arsenal to begin the month of April. Everton is now level on 40 points with 8th place Leicester and will meet 1st place Manchester City for a third straight win.
