The encounter that always promises to deliver, far from disappointed tonight when Barcelona entertained Chelsea. Goals in the first half from the hosts, made sure the second half was more of the same.

Chelsea was outdone by basic Messi play, who was involved in all of Barcelona’s goals. It took the Catalan side two chances to score two goals in the first 20 minutes of the match.

The travelling Blues had their fair share of opportunities from the first to the final whistle, but were not as clinical as the team who leading before the half time break. The late inclusion of captain, Iniesta was pivotal to the moral boost, which then lead to a strong start by the Camp Nou side.

The first goal was quick Barcelona interplay that was met with a stroke of luck, or underwhelming goalkeeping. The Belgium number 1 was beaten at his near post and through his legs, with a shot from Messi’s weaker foot.

It was more a goalkeeper error than a piece of mastery by the Argentine forward. This transpired all inside the first three minutes of the game. Between the first and the second goal – Chelsea created several chances but never made them count.

In the 20th minute of the match, Messi managed to put another mark on the game with a signature dribble through the middle of the pitch, and delivered an inch perfect pass to set Dembele up for goal. Efficiency personified by the Spanish giants.

After nothing came from a late free kick for the visitors – the first half ended with the home side taking two shots and scoring two goals. The one difference between the two sides on the pitch tonight – one team a 100% clinical in front of goal and the other, the victims of their own demise.
