It only took the Magpies 64 seconds to open the scoring. Kenedy scored with a chest down and a cheeky flick for his first career goal with Newcastle.

Newcastle took advantage of a Mario Lemina slip and scored a wonderful goal in transition to make it 2-0. Kenedy got his second for his first career brace.

A third goal was scored by Matt Ritchie with a low-driven finesse shot past Alex McCarthy. Jonjo Shelvey got his second assist to help Newcastle get three goals in an EPL game for the first time since December 23rd.

Newcastle skyrockets to 13th place on 32 points while Southampton flirt closer with the bottom three. The Saints are now just one point ahead of 18th placed Crystal Palace.
