English Premier League: Arsenal play for pride against Manchester City
What can the Gunners do in their hometown when they take on the best team in the Premier League? Well in this case, play football, and show nothing of the Carabao Cup final.
What a horrid demonstration by the North London club. I would have given the semifinal to Chelsea, if I’d known what the finals had in store as an Arsenal player. No turn up to the match doesn’t even begin to explain it.
A few days later and Wenger gets another crack at a manager who use to own him in the Champions League, and now owns him in the Carabao Cup.

What more does the Frenchman have left to play for? Only pride now mostly. Eight points above the next team, and eight points below their rivals – gives slight optimism, but with little change in fortune.
Chelsea would have to lose a hell of a lot, while Arsenal loses nothing and wins everything. You tell me what sounds more impossible of the two scenarios? If Arsenal does better than previously – they only add a bit of excitement in what’s left of the season.

News ahead of clash
Pep was out talking ahead of the clash, how important this win will be and how the title run is far from over – only according to him though. The cup final is done and dusted, giving them a new task at hand – beating Wenger and Arsenal on home soil.
Two sure misses from the encounter will be both, Fernandinho and Fabian Delph. The first of the two players mentioned is missing through injury, and the second, still serving his sentence of a three-match ban since the mini war versus Wigan, in their FA Cup defeat.

Raheem Sterling was said to be nearing full fitness, but is still a doubt for tonight’s clash. Sounds like important pieces missing in the full picture, but Pep has the backup to slide players in with ease.
The team with a point to prove stands a Nacho Monreal light and welcomes back cup tied, Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the team. Should he feature? Yes no doubt he should, and most certainly will make the starting eleven.
