Later this even one of the best fixtures in the Round of 16 takes place, when Juventus takes on Tottenham later on this evening.

The Champions League is back, and back with a feisty fixture. Not the easiest clash to call with both teams doing extremely well, across all competitions.

Juventus run in the UCL hasn’t been as flawless as the home side’s, Spurs. They went through Group D with three wins, two draws, and one loss.

This one loss comes as no surprise – as they played a Barcelona side, oozing form and confidence. At the time – the La Liga giants were unbeaten.

Leading up to this game, The Old Lady has been on an unbeaten run of 23 games. With a record such as this, Mauricio must hope he’s game plan is to the T.

 Tottenham on their way to the Round of 16

Spurs on their run shocked the rest of Europe, but many who’s been following the Premier League will know, they’ve been on an outstanding run.

Tottenham’s European run has been one of the best, taking points from both, Borussia Dortmund and previous European Champions, Real Madrid. This allowed for them to finish as Group H leaders and knock, Borussia Dortmund out the prestigious cup.

WIth their run – one could confidently say, they are the team to beat after dropping no points and beating the team who holds the cup.

What makes the encounter extra special for one Spurs player, Fernando Llorente, is the return to his old club and chance to knock them out the cup. This adds some extra spice to the clash.

Players expected to be missing from the clash

Spurs, inevitably, are unable to play their new signing Lucas Moura – making their squad a bit thinner. In defence, the London club are without key defender, Toby Alderweireld. 

Saturday pass, there was few scared in Tottenham’s backline, but the few went unpunished. Hopefully, whoever’s left with the task tonight – they will nullify The Old Lady’s attack.

Juventus are without a host of players. Major doubts, who are more than likely to miss the UCL battle, according to Goal.com, Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Matuidi, Stephan Lichtsteiner, and Benedikt Höwedes. A slight doubt is, Andrea Barzagli.

These players are major key alerts missing from an important one. This is exactly what the English side needed for a boost – ahead of their tie later tonight.
