If you’d ask me, what you think about Everton and the job Sam Allardyce is doing? I would say, “Nothing has changed”. A four-goal loss, a weekend ago – matched by a home draw against a side fighting the drop – sounds similar to results Koeman attained.

Everton was lucky to get anything in the game. Inside Goodison Park – the home side went down to a goal in the early part of the game. James Rodrigues, the man trying to work his way back to his best – scored the opener and set West Brom on their way.

Hands down, the away team West Brom – was far better on the day!

Great scenes as Everton’s two new signings were both on the pitch. Both, Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun, got a chance to take Everton to three points. Boy, didn’t that backfire in Sam’s face.

Always hard to try and beat the Baggies once they’ve gone ahead. Pardew knows, and knew exactly how to set up a team to sit back and soak up 90 minutes of football.

Although, they didn’t only just sit back, they took the game to the home side. The two teams, even with a low-scoring game, impressed heavily and gifted the game with loads of action.

The game went on without a reply from the Blues, before the first half ended. It took the host a whole 70 minutes to process a goal, and do it through a player who’s on the fence – regarding his future.

Niasse was on target and lit the game up which was heading towards three points for Alan Pardew and his men. Luckily for Niasse and his company – West Brom were not prolific enough in front of goal, and allowed Everton to get back in the game.

The game took a turn for the worst, and was met with the worst moment of the weekend. James McCarthy suffered a fatal injury-blow and was caught awkwardly by, Salomon Rondon. The challenge broke the player’s leg in two places.

Rondon, automatically went into a panic and signalled for help. In tears, him and the others knew the extent of the damage and were in a state. It was a bad event to see out a match so well contested by the away side.

I haven’t really seen a change in any of the gameplay from the home side. Results have been a wee, bit better and the quality of football on display is nowhere near their neighbours, Liverpool’s quality.

The owner spoke so highly of having their own ‘fab four’ – but yet to show their consistency with good football over a longer period of time. The away team, not much different, but have a lot more to take from this game.
