The first replacement boss hired following the acrimonious exit of predecessor, Frank de Boer (the holder of the unwanted Premier League record of shortest period in charge).

The former England manager has overseen a largely successful upturn in Palace’s form, dragging them off the foot of the table and even somewhat fixing their broken attack.

Vindicating chairman Steve Parish’s decision, the 70-year-old has re-organised and galvanised his team for the fight against the drop, with his players showing the desire and hunger for points that they lacked under de Boer.

Particularly pleasingly for Palace fans, he has also managed to motivate key stars like Sakho, Benteke and Zaha, and bring solidity to a previously dysfunctional defence. A positive change for sure.
