An amazing result for a team operating in the Premier League with no manager. West Brom draw closer to obtaining a new boss in Alan Pardew.

I for one was hoping this wasn’t the case, as I’m not ready for the smug Englishman to return. A manager who’s almost, always been sacked by whatever club he was at – gets handed a chance for redemption.

According to most reports, if not all, Alan Pardew will be unveiled soon as West Brom’s new man in charge. Other reports suggest he’s intrigued and flattered by the offer on the table. Either or, him joining is more likely with these reports making the rounds.

The Birmingham Mail reports:

"“Alan Pardew could be handed a £1m bonus if he keeps West Brom in the Premier League.“The 56-year-old, who could watch Albion take on Newcastle from The Hawthorns’ stands this evening, is expected to be confirmed as Tony Pulis’ successor in the next 24 hours.“The former Crystal Palace boss will take over a team that currently sits just one point and one place above the bottom three.“Pardew admitted on Sunday that he has held talks with Albion officials and The Sun claims if he is successful in steering the Baggies to safety he could be set for a seven-figure windfall on top of a salary cited as £2m.“Gary Megson takes charge of tonight’s game – but Pardew is likely to make his official Baggies bow against Palace on Saturday.”"

The league was not missing Alan Pardew:

The lasting memory of this man has been an unpleasant one and made me dislike the man even more than usual and I cannot deny, helped ease the sympathy after losing his post as the Crystal Palace manager.

West Brom did not do too badly away from home against a side who had the bookies betting on them for a definite win. West Brom’s resolution to sack Tony Pulis showed promise after just one game.

If this is to continue beyond the inclusion of the smug-dog millionaire, Alan Pardew, I certainly cannot not say. Younger managers of foreign descent seem to be coming up with new ideas and finding some fantastic players throughout the world.

Watford’s a prime example of what can be done with a fresh outlook on the game – that is ever evolving. Pardew, known for his recent failure in short-lived success when he lost the FA Cup to Man United (Yes, the dance reappeared in my head now, cause this is where he unleashed his two-step).

However, in saying this, the Englishman has the ability to keep West Brom in the Premier League. Having to achieve this while going up against failures in Crystal Palace, West Ham and even, Swansea City.

He stands a good chance in this gruesome battle for Premier League survival. It’s there for the taking. Out the lot, the Baggies sit in the driver’s seat and can set the pace by taking points away.

Siting a point off the bottom three makes them lucky.
