Robbery? Yes. Able to rectify the wrongdoings over at the Emirates? Nope, not a thing Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs can do now except take on the next challenge.

Reading Goal.com, it’s said the captain of Tottenham believes it’s time to direct their focus towards other realistic goals. After suffering another away defeat to one of the top-six clubs in the North London Derby, Spurs trail the leaders Man City by 11 points.

Spurs become the worst team against top-six opposition as they’ve now lost to Chelsea, Man United, and Arsenal. They’ve only managed to collect points against Liverpool, where they advertised a different sort of team. This makes them the weakest link, in the first part of the Premier League.

If by some miracle, Man City start losing form (if there’s such a thing), and the points between the top teams become less. Then will they back in it, but that’s wishing on the furthest star, in the galaxy of far-fetched football dreams.

What makes It extremely tough on Pochettino is knowing he has to face Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City away. The latter, the first and only chance they get to help themselves, and the others in pursuit of Man City.

Hugo Lloris quotes taken from Goal.com

"“Before we think about City it’s important to stay in the top four. This is the main target for our team.“We heard from outside that Tottenham play for the title, blah, blah, blah. The most important thing is to stay consistent in the league.“We have been in the top four the last two years and we need to carry on, to settle the club in this position and try to get more experience because the team is still young, then reduce the gap with the best.“Obviously the future for Tottenham will be bright if we keep the same mentality. It’s our ambition, but step by step.“It’s true that we wanted to do more against Manchester United and Arsenal. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that so now it’s important to have a run of victories because we need to keep our place at the top.”"

Is the skipper Lloris right in what he’s saying?

Being 11 points off the top and struggling against the rest of the teams fighting for a top four slot, that’s where their focus should be aimed at. With only three other spots up for grabs, this becomes a tall order.

What makes the challenge far more difficult is the form the others around the top slots have been showing in recent weeks. Man City, United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, have all been doing the business on the pitch.

City have been knowingly unstoppable, and the others have taken a sudden rise in form and all have been collecting points consistently.

The keeper and captain of the team is right by saying they need to keep the eye on the prize with this young, youthful side. If they continue to take part in Europe’s top competition and keep Arsenal out of the top four, they on the right track.
