Chelsea, Tottenham, and both Manchester clubs all grabbed the W while Liverpool took the D in their Champions League group stage matches, but who is the most likely to advance?

English teams haven’t been dominant in the Champions League but this campaign could change it all. Chelsea was the last team to enjoy success but will they be the crusaders for the English flag?

Judging by the first games of the group stages, Chelsea has shown their group what they have to offer, after blowing away Qarabag with a 6-0 win.

Following the Blues were both Manchester teams who both put in solid performances and pulled off convincing wins in their respected groups.

More from Champions League

However, most notably we have to take our hats off to Spurs for pulling off a win against a very strong BVB. They made good on their home fixture and took all the points in a 3-1 joy.

Liverpool was the worst of the lot and only managed a draw in their efforts. All of the English clubs were spoilt with games at home expecting Man City, yet the Reds couldn’t finish things off.

Out the lot, who will do their best to get past the group stages and reach the knockout stages of the big stage? Who will fail, get knocked out, and enter the Europa League?
