Another transfer window in and Liverpool had a tough time keeping one of their most important players, Philippe Coutinho.

Almost a month after all the drama and the little magician speaks out about the bad patch during the transfer window. Liverpool had a rough ride through the course of the window in both acquiring players and keeping a star player.

Players who were suppose to make the Anfield switch are still at their respected clubs after failure to secure their signatures. Both van Dijk and Naby Keita were heavily linked with a move to Anfield. Nothing materialised from day one till the end of the window.

Only the latter was able to secure a move that sees him a Red the following summer window only. This makes the stay of Philippe Coutinho seem a bit hostel but at the same time the biggest success of the window for the Merseyside club.

Weeks on since the window shut and all the dust has settled, one of Liverpool’s key players spoke out about the situation and the way forward.

ESPN reported that he was disappointed by the lack of movement but this is still a place he wants to be even though things went South.

The little man had this to say:

"“I received a job offer, like in life whatever work you do. Sometimes you’re interested and sometimes you’re not. In this case, like you all know, I was interested. My family too.“But it’s like I always said… it’s a great honour to receive an offer for a great club like that. But it’s also a great honour to be here. Liverpool is a great club. I’m here and I’m going to give it my best as always.”"

Judging by the comments of the young man, one can say he takes shape of a better professional than what he did over the difficult period for club and the player.

Coutinho was honest and open in his interview leaving nothing for chance when he spoke to ESPN. Well aware of the upset caused by him and well aware what needs to be done after both him and the manager have laid the drama-filled-window to bed.

The only way is forward and that’s what both the manager and player want, is to move forward.

"“I earned my place during the last four, five years and I’ve never had a problem with anyone here. I’ve always respected the support very much of the groups. The players, the directors, the technical staff. And that hasn’t changed at all. Like I said, whatever job offers you get, some interest you and others don’t.“No. It’s all done now,” he added. “I have to work. I’m focused on working hard and to have a good year if possible. In the end, I have to help my team.”"

Tonight’s Carabao Cup Fixture:

Later tonight Liverpool forms part of the English clubs taking on the Carabao Cup and they’ll be challenging the likes of Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The Brazilian is meant to start with a host of other changes. Each game played is a step towards his forgiveness and a step in the direction of what he wants to achieve in his time at Anfield.

Next: Rooney banned from driving for two years

Hopefully he can be the difference to a Reds team struggling to show good form. Hopefully a good result tonight will give him the motivation to be the best with a Liverbird on his chest again.
