Jurgen Klopp came out with strong support for his squad the last couple of days saying his defence was fine.

He said, he’s gotten a brand new left back in the form of Alberto Moreno, after a tremendous pre season. After Adam Lallana got injured, he could now send James Milner back to midfield.

Furthermore, when discussing his centre backs he claimed, “if you could look out there and tell me five that would make us stronger, five. Then you win a prize! it’s difficult how it is.”

The first thing that many Liverpool fans would have been feeling after these quotes are shock. Alberto Moreno at left back for the season was not something any of us expected.

From the man who was flipping water bottles behind Klopp on the bench last year, to possibly starting against Hoffenheim in a Champions League qualifier. This is not something many fans would have expected. But, credit where it is due. Moreno has been a massive surprise this pre season and does deserve the praise he is getting.
