Wide players

The system is a 4-2-3-1 and so far we have our back four and two central midfielders. Now it’s time for the attacking players out wide. First up is a player who was thought to be leaving his club long before now in Saido Berahino.

Berahino is still at West Brom, despite every single transfer window, his name being linked with a transfer away right until the final hours. The striker is quick and good for a goal, but hasn’t been the force lately that he was a few years ago.

The Baggies have turned down so many bids in the past in the hope of getting a really big transfer fee. One nobody so far has been willing to pay, obviously. How ironic that now, Berahino has the option to leave on a free transfer?

Berahino is forced to play wide in this team on the left, and opposite him on the right-hand side is Robert Snodgrass of Hull City. Snodgrass has been in great form this season, scoring three goals in seven Premier League games.

Snodgrass is an underrated player in the Premier League, and will have suitors in the summer if he chooses to wait it out and see what presents itself. His work rate, dribbling, crossing and goal threat, both from open play and set-pieces, will be in demand somewhere.

Namely this XI for starters.
