It’s glaringly obvious who the striker is going to be. Even if Harry Kane was fit, Sergio Aguero would be the striker. The only question would be whether you change formation to get them both into the team, but that’s a moot point now.

Aguero has been fantastic already this season. Just when you thought the Argentine, already one of the very best strikers in the world, couldn’t get any better, along comes Guardiola. The City boss is trying to push Aguero to be even better and so far he has responded, netting five goals in four Premier League games.
He’s got six goals in the Champions League already in just three games. Staggering early-season form. Aguero has the best goals-per-minute ratio in Premier League history and it was a no-brainer to field him in our combined XI.

There’s quite a few players who quite easily could have made the XI, but competition was fierce. It was the league’s best attack and the league’s best defense joining forces, and in the end, that’s how the team played out.
