Again, both teams have a plethora of talent in the wide areas. Pochettino has versatile attackers that can play more than one position. However, there is only one place to start: Son Heung-min. The South Korean has been in staggering form recently, scoring four Premier League goals in three games.

Son is one of the most unexpected stars of the season so far – the other we’ll touch on in a second. It was obvious the real Son hadn’t shown up in Spurs colors yet, but the man who has emerged this season is beyond what anybody surely expected.

The test will be seeing how long Son can perform at such a high level for. It’s his second season in England though, so he should be well prepared for the long road ahead. The way he’s playing right now, he’s the first name on the Spurs team sheet. Likewise, his name is on ours too.

On the opposite flank will be Raheem Sterling. You could look to Nolito, Christian Eriksen, Moussa Sissoko or Erik Lamela. But Sterling, like Son, is impossible to ignore. The transformation in the 21-year-old even since Euro 2016 is nothing short of phenomenal.

Sterling’s transformation is probably Guardiola’s biggest accomplishment at City so far. Nobody could have seen this Sterling coming. Nobody. The Englishman has notched four goals and two assists in six games. But beyond stats, he’s been unplayable for opposition defenders.

There’s nothing you can do when he’s in the form he is right now, and that’s why we have to have him in our XI.
