Manchester City: 5 Lessons Pep Guardiola should learn from Celtic draw

Manchester City were expected to achieve a relatively straight-forward win over Celtic in the Champions League. The game ended in a 3-3 draw and Pep Guardiola will have learned some valuable lessons.

Manchester City could only muster a draw in the end against Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola’s team were expected to win the game but Celtic performed heroically and at least deserved the one point they got out of the game.

The match was thrilling to watch but Guardiola was probably not overly thrilled at some of his team’s play during the game. City played well and created chances but never fully got to grips with the occasion, high intensity and atmosphere during the 90 minutes.

Guardiola has had everything his own way since the Premier League season began. Six wins out of six have seen City into first place and pegged as championship favorites. But this game could be good for Guardiola. Just what he and his team needed.

You can’t win every match and playing a game that doesn’t quite go your way means you are forced to look at why things didn’t go your way. There will be many things that Guardiola will question about the game over the coming days.
