The transfer window has officially opened which saw many signings join up with their new team to start their preseason training. Clubs from all around the Premier League had transfers to go through on the July 1.

Arsenal

Granit Xhaka joined the club after an impressive display in the Euros. Xhaka was a standout player in Switzerland’s Euro campaign but unfortunately he missed a penalty which saw them go out to Poland on penalties. Xhaka will no doubt show the skills he has in the EPL but he does lack in pace.

Manchester City

City not only have appointed Pep Guardiola as their new manager but also confirmed the signings of three new players which included Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito and Aaron Mooy. Ilkay Gündoğan played 40 games in all competitions, scoring only three goals and assisting seven.

His season came to and end when he picked up an injury which cut his season short but also ruled him out of the Euros. Nolito impressed in the Liga BBVA last season which saw him get a place in Spain’s Euro squad after getting 12 goals and seven assists in 29 games for Celta Vigo.

Aaron Mooy has signed from affiliate club Melbourne City who scored 11 goals and got 10 assists in 24 games. Mooy is set to go on loan to another Premier League club for his first season.

Liverpool

Liverpool haven’t had success in some of their transfers in quite some time and Klopp is looking to turn that around by signing Karius, Mane, Matip and Grujic. Karius arrived from Mainz for a fee around £6 million. Karius played 36 games, conceding 42 goals and kept 10 clean sheets.

Mane played 43 games for the Saints and scored 15 goals, assisting nine. Matip joins Liverpool on a free from Shalke where he played 41 games, scoring three and assisting five from centre back. Grujic returns to Anfield after signing in January and returning to Red Star Belgrade on loan for the remainder of the season. Grujic played 30 games, scoring six and assisting seven.

Manchester United

United appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager and he has quickly signed the players he needs. United announced the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a one-year contract after not renewing his contract at French giants PSG. He helped them to yet another Ligue 1 title playing 51 games, scoring 50 and assisting 19. Mkhitaryan joined from Dortmund and scored 23 goals and assisting 32 times in 52 games.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs announced the signing of Victor Wanyama who joined from Southampton. Wanyama played 35 games for the Saints getting one goal and one assist and also receiving four yellow cards and two red cards. He is Poch’s replacement for Moussa Dembele who is set to miss the opening four games with a ban.

Crystal Palace

Palace have made two signings so far this window, capturing the signatures of Townsend and Mandanda. Townsend signed from relegated Newcastle. Townsend played 27 games with both Newcastle and Spurs scoring seven and assisting six. Mandanda arrived from Marseille and played 50 games for the French club, conceding 53 goals and keeping 16 clean sheets.

Chelsea

Antonio Conte signed Batshuayi as his first signing as Chelsea boss. Batshuayi played 50 games for Marseille scoring 23 and assisting 10. I’m sure this will be the only attacking player signed by Conte as he will try to implement his Italian style of football into Chelsea.
