Jurgen Klinsmann

The England cricket team hit a rocky road a couple of years ago and needed a new coach. They turned to Australian Trevor Bayliss, who has completely turned the fortunes of the national team around with largely the same group of players. The England rugby team followed the same blueprint, hiring Eddie Jones. Again, the transformation has been obvious.

As big of rivals as Australia are to England in those two sports, Germany are in soccer. What better way to improve the England national team than to grab a talented German coach?

Joking aside, Jurgen Klinsmann would be a smart hire by the FA. Klinsmann is a popular character who understands what it would take to coach England. He spent time at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

As a coach, the 51-year-old guided Germany to third-place in the 2006 World Cup. An area of strength is his ability to focus on youth. He has done the same with the United States, leading them to the Round of 16 of the 2014 World Cup.
