So many players could occupy this position but we have decided on the classy Paul Scholes, simply on the basis of what other professionals have said about him.
Iniesta, Xavi and Zidane have all said how much they wanted to play with the English midfielder and everyone who has played with him say he was probably the best they had played with.
He is one of the most naturally brilliant passers ever and used to dictate Manchester United week in week out. When he first graduated from the Class of 92, Scholes was a true goal threat but as years rolled on, Scholes mastered the anchoring role.
