Premier League Round Five: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Bad
Aston Villa’s Collapse
The Villains held a 2-0 advantage through 63 minutes away to high-flying Leicester City. What happened during the next 27 plus minutes was absolutely devastating for Aston Villa.
Let’s start with how well Tim Sherwood’s charges began the game. Wonderkid Jack Grealish put the Villains ahead through 39 minutes with a very well placed shot.
Then, Carles Gil gave The Villains what appeared to be the winning goal before the wheels came off.
Just nine minutes later, Leicester City defender Ritchie de Laet scored form a set-piece to give The Foxes life. Jamie Vardy leveled the game ten minutes later before disaster struck for Aston Villa. Nathan Dyer got a beat on two Aston Villa defenders and was able to beat keeper Brad Guzan to the ball and head home the winner.
If you want to know just how deep the despair hit home for Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood then all you have to do is watch his BBC interview. It’s as if his soul has been sucked straight out of his body.
Chelsea’s Tactical Computer
Mourinho’s defending champions continued their season long horror show with a 3-1 defeat to Steven Naismith.
It seems nothing is going right for Mr. Jose Mourinho this season. Even the “tactical computer” malfunctioned during the build up to the game.
Mourinho’s quotes are from The Independent.
"“The moment is so negative that everything goes against us. At the tactical meeting we had this morning, even the computer broke. But of course it was not because of that that we did not win,” Mourinho said."
Even before the tactical computer malfunctioned things got off to a bad start for Mourinho.
A manager supposedly not feeling the pressure of a poor start does not wear that look and he also does not walk out of a presser.
In case you are wondering, John Stones played brilliantly for Everton. The Blues definitely could have used him.
