Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez lost favor in Louis van Gaal’s eyes. The Manchester United super-sub will finally seal his permanent transfer in a few moments.

Signing for the Red Devils in 2010, Javier Hernandez has not impressed the Manchester United managers enough to earn a starting role. This remains the same story when he was under Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes, and Louis van Gaal.

Last season, the Mexican international had a chance to revitalize his form under Carlo Ancelotti’s tutelage at Real Madrid on loan. However, the Spanish giants refused to make the deal permanent. The player returned to Old Trafford, forced to play second fiddle to Wayne Rooney.

A move to Bayer Leverkusen would give Javier Hernandez a chance to show his worth in a top tier league. The fee is reported to be in the region of £9 million. The 27-year-old will be looking to prove his talents in a different league. However, the Mexican striker will now have to compete with the aging Stefan Kiessling for the position.
