5. Chelsea will find it tough to defend their title

During Mourinho’s last stint as a Chelsea manager he guided the team to two consecutive Premier League titles. This time also, me and other Chelsea fans will be wishing for the same but the task won’t be nearly the same as it was the last time around.

The league dynamics have changed and the number of contenders vying for the title have increased. The top clubs have huge financial backing through which they consolidate their squads. With new squads, new and improved tactics are formed which makes each team more efficient as season after seasons goes by.

Chelsea weren’t involved in huge transfers as they normally are, while their direct rivals have strengthened vigorously. Although this just goes to show how inferior the other teams were as compared to Chelsea last season, but this also means Chelsea’s task of defending their title became far more daunting.

Everyone has their eyes set on taking the crown from Stamford Bridge and it is suffice to say, Chelsea need to buckle up for a long and tough season ahead.
