With Diego Costa out with injury, Chelsea had to call for the services of Loic Remy and Ramadel Falcao to lead the Chelsea attack against Arsenal. Loic Remy was deployed in the first half but he was the victim of Arsenal’s high line defense and got caught offside on many occasions thus stopping Chelsea’s attacking plays.

In the second half, new loan recruit Falcao was put on to find an equalizer. According to many fans and pundits Chelsea have taken a massive gamble on the Colombian after his dismal season with Manchester United. On the other hand many have pinned their hopes on Mourinho’s man management skills to bring back the confidence in the striker, which he seems to be bereft of as of this moment.

It seems Mourinho’s magic will take some time to work on Falcao as it was another unproductive performance in the number 9 jersey. There is still some time for Falcao find his feet and Chelsea need him to be at his absolute best when the season starts.

Costa’s chronic hamstring injury seems to be lingering and Remy doesn’t look like a striker on whom Chelsea can rely on in important matches. Falcao is the only other striker who has the experience and the talent to inflict maximum damage during crucial points in the season.

If Falcao doesn’t find his lost confidence then Chelsea will be in a huge predicament as they will be challenging on multiple fronts with an aim to succeed in all.
