Like Germany, the United States a vast history in the women’s game. Winning the first Women’s World Cup back in 1991, the United States are two time champions.

However, the USA has failed to win the World Cup since it hosted the event in 1999. With the players and supporters looking to end a 16 year drought, now is the perfect time for the Red, White and Blue.

With Canada the northern border for much of the United States, playing the World Cup so close to home will not only give the United States home field advantage most of the tournament, but a chance to win in front of many home supporters.

With the likes of Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, Christie Rampone, Heather O’Reilly and Megan Rapinoe, the United States are one of the top favorites to win the tournament. A win that would make the United States the first three time Women’s World Cup Champions.
