Yannick Bolasie – Crystal Palace

Few players had as big an impact on a mid to lower table team this year than Bolasie. The winger was an absolute revelation, terrorizing defenders with his direct running and bag of tricks. He only provided four goals and six assists all season, surely numbers that could do with rising somewhat. But when you’re supplying Marouane Chamakh and Yaya Sanogo, it can be tough.

More than that though, he’s a guy who opens the play up for others through his tireless effort and ability with or without the ball. By just being on the pitch, other teams had to account for and try to shut him down. This in turn meant other players could thrive and played some part in Palace staying in the Premier League as well.

Perhaps a move to the likes of a Chelsea or Arsenal would be out of the question. Both already have an abundance of, admittedly better, attacking options. But a team like Liverpool, enduring a rough spell and needing all the creative players they can to cover the loss of Luis Suarez last year, could do much worse than bring him in. He would work hard on the wing, while also bringing a selfless attitude to the team.

He works well without the ball, but also has the confidence to do great things when he has it at his feet. Ultimately he may stay with Palace into next season, but at only 26 years old, the former Bristol City man will surely end up at a bigger club before long. If anything his considerable skills on the ball need to be witnessed by a wider audience.
