The Manchester United keeper has been one of the best players for the Red Devils and the best keeper in the Premier League beating the likes of Joe Hart and Thibaut Courtoise. The reason being, Courtoise and Hart had a rigid defense which protected them, but the defense of Man United has been woeful all season.
De Gea’s saves alone saved Manchester United times. He has developed into one of the best shot stoppers and has an excellent sense of positioning which allow him to make sublime close range saves which we had the pleasure to witness this season.
His performances have caught the eye of Real Madrid and he might be leaving in the summer to join the Los Blancos which is a testament that he is the real deal and can make it at the very pinnacle of world football. A goal keeper winning the award will be a rare moment which we can witness if he wins it and it will be well deserved.
