With the retirement of Long time Premier League goalkeeper Brad Friedel, the Premier League will be losing another top American. While the Premier League may have few Americans playing in the league, the United States is still a top target for TV revenue.

With only two American goalkeepers — Tim Howard and Brad Guzan — remaining, the next wave of great American’s could be coming. While the United States has not produced many top notch players, producing top flight goalkeepers has been the nations specialty.
During recent years, American players have found their way back to the United States top league, Major League Soccer. An encouraging sign for American’s heading to the Premier League is national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann.
With the national team manager wanting his players to play in the world’s best league, the top American’s will eventually head overseas to no only prove themselves to their national team manager, but to themselves as well.
While not all of these goalkeepers will head to the Premier League, their is a good chance that the next American Premier League goalkeeper could come from this list.
