The English Premier League is said to be one of the toughest leagues in the world where any team no matter what position they are in, is capable of beating anyone on any given day. There is no surety that a team who is playing in an unbelievable form and is top of the table will surely win against a relegation battler. This is what makes the Premier League so interesting to watch.
One criticism which the Premier League faces is that although there is a huge influx of foreign players which means the English League is a huge attraction for players, which is a good thing. But on the flipside this massive influx results in less number of home grown English players who are playing at the top level.
Same is the case with managers in the Premier League where the top teams are managed by foreign managers while English managers are nowhere to be seen. According to me, this season although the foreign managers like Mourinho, Van Gaal etc. have taken all the spotlight, many English managers have caught my eye through their management and how they made their team perform under the radar.
Most of these English managers are with mid table teams and with teams who are battling relegation. It is one thing to have unlimited financial support and manage a squad full of superstars, while it quite another task to work with limited funds and still achieve your goal. I want to talk about some English managers who have done a really good job with whatever limited support they have got.
I want to give them the applause they deserve. So here it goes.
