With top wingers Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all taking up space on the Arsenal roster, Theo Walcott has found himself lost in the shuffle for playing time.

Not good enough to replace Welbeck and Sanchez in the attack, Walcott finds himself most likely nearing the end of his Arsenal career. Adding to the pressure to sell the winger is the single year remaining on his contract. If unable or unwilling to resign Walcott, Arsenal could find themselves losing out on a hefty transfer fee.

At the same time, Liverpool are heading towards a future without Raheem Sterling. The young star has generated much interest from some of the world’s top clubs. With many believing he could depart Anfield this summer, Brendan Rodgers will be looking for an adequate replacement in the attack.

Adding Walcott to the fray will solve both sides’ problems. With Arsenal looking to offload one of their players before the end of their contract and Liverpool looking to replace a departing star of their own. This deal would make definite sense for both sides.
