A few honorable mentions for this list. First, has to be the departing Steven Gerrard. Leaving Liverpool for the Los Angeles Galaxy this summer will end one of the greatest runs in English football. Having spent all of his seventeen year career at Liverpool, Gerrard will be missed by all.

Another who has fallen off of this list is Wayne Rooney. The longtime Manchester United star, Rooney is enduring one the toughest stretches of his career. Being moved into the midfield by new manager Louis Van Gaal has taken its toll on the career forward, taking him from greatness to mortal status.

Finally, a player that could soon break onto this list. Eden Hazard is making a name for himself. His strong form this season at Chelsea has helped lead the side in its league leading performance.

However, the play of his teammates makes it tough to judge how good the Belgian really is. We will know within the next few years whether Hazard is the real thing.
