  • Nothing endears a player to fans like a derby goal, and Kane can boast four of those. He put two past Chelsea last month, and scored another two against Arsenal on Saturday.

Kane’s performances this season have been nothing short of amazing; in 34 appearances, he has already found the back of the net on 22 occasions, prompting Tottenham to tie him down to his second five-year contract in less than six months.

The forward only signed a five-year deal last August, but given the way Real Madrid pounce, Tottenham officials saw it fitting to sign him to a new deal rumoured to be worth 35,000 pounds a week.

The striker has proven that he is no fluke, making himself indispensable at White Hart Lane.

After his performance on Saturday, praise came flying in from everywhere, even Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hailed the youngster and called for Roy Hodgson to include him in his next England squad.

"“When you have scored the number of goals he has scored, if you don’t put him in there somebody else will give him a passport.”-Arsene WengerSource: BBC Sport"

Totally possible, as the striker is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland by virtue of his father.

Former Spurs midfielder Danny Murphy went on to say that the England squad should be built around young Kane.

"“Not just selected, but build the team around him. He’s so young, but he’s so powerful.I’m struggling to see a weakness in the lad’s game.”-Danny MurphySource: BBC Sport"

Hodgson should be spoilt for choice in the striker department when he prepares his team to face Lithuania in a European qualifying match on March 27th. With Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and a now healthy Daniel Sturridge available, he will also have the luxury of calling up Kane, QPR’s Charlie Austin and Burnley striker Danny Ings.

David Beckham — England’s most famous footballer — has also called for Kane to be included in the squad.

"“Being English, and seeing someone like Harry and the way he’s playing and the way he’s played this season, he’s having a stunning year.”“I think everyone is singing his praises, and rightly so. He’s 21 years old, he’s working hard and has got a good head on his shoulders, so we will see.”“It doesn’t matter what age you are — if you’re good enough then you should play.”-David BeckhamSource: Daily Star"

Surely, there is no higher recommendation; but as if that wasn’t enough, Kane has also been compared to England Great Alan Shearer. Current Newcastle boss John Carver believes that the Spurs forward is the closest thing he has seen to Shearer.

"“He’s probably the nearest thing that we’ve seen to an Alan Shearer in a long time. I think it’s great, first of all, to see a young lad come through the system. He’s an honest and hard-working — but talented — boy.”“I think he’s got a level head. He speaks well in front of the camera, and I think he’s got a good personality.”-John CarverSource: Daily Mail"

What a season it has been for Kane, he most certainly has everyone’s attention now. Especially this guy.

Tottenham could secure a top-four spot this season, if they do, Kane will be deserving of much credit. He has provided more than goals this season, he has given his team belief.

At 21, Kane will only continue to improve. If the Spurs can hold onto him for the next few years, they can have a major shout in the Premier League. Indeed, he has the talent and potential to lead both Tottenham and England to glory.
