Premier League Predictions; Match Week 1
This match wrote itself; and yes, you have to wonder if this was somehow rigged, don’t you?
LIVERPOOL V SOUTHAMPTON
This fixture truly does right itself, doesnt it? Southampton have a brilliant season last year –> their manager leaves given lack of promises on keeping his players –> Southampton lose a large portion of their most effective and prized assets –> Southampton’s best two attacking players move to Liverpool –> Southampton travel to Anfield on opening day.
With the Brendan Rodgers revolution of last year looking to continue, the Northern Irish manager has assembled one of the deepest pool of attacking talent in the Premier League; this was his best attempt to replace the outbound Luis Suarez. Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana joined the Merseyside cause, which may find it more difficult now that Champions League football looms.
Southampton have done well to replace both Pochettino and the players that have left St. Mary’s Legendary Dutch player and manager Ronaldo Koeman took the hot-seat with the south coast club, and has assembled a new look first-team that may not hit the same heights as last season, it should not drop below 12th place; stability in his first season is all he could ever want, but he’ll have to begin life at one of the toughest places to gain a result in all of English football.
