Premier League Predictions; Match Week 1
BURNLEY V CHELSEA
Good luck to you Burnley, good luck to you indeed. Firstly, welcome back to the Premier League, you’ve earned it. Now that that’s said, I am sorry but your stay will be brief, roughly thirty-eight matches or so. Not only has the club failed to do much of any investment into the squad to give them a fighting chance to stay up, but brilliant manager Sean Dyche will likely pay the price for it, which is a real shame. A proper welcome back greeting to the top flight comes by way of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, who look every bit as potential champions.
While it is clear that Mou did not take the league title race nearly as seriously as he did further Champions League glory, Chelsea’s stellar activity in the market this summer trumps City and all other title rivals (at least on paper) when it comes to who can field the best XI. Cesc Fabregas, Felipe Luis, Diego Costa and club legend Didier Drogba all come in as part of the Stamford Bridge re-armorment program, which looks a dangerous side as any that has graced the league in recent memory; first test? Trounce the minnows on opening day.
