The 2014/2015 Premier League campaign kicks off this weekend in earnest. Talking points abound (there’s no reason to list them), but the important thing to remember is that football is back, and every club will be looking to get on the front foot from the first kick of the ball in anger.
Surely, the biggest talking point in the first week of fixtures is the Premier League managerial debut of Louis van Gaal, now headmaster at Manchester United, and charged with re-establishling the club on the domestic front after David Moyes did his best to put the club to ruin. Mauricio Pochettino takes charge of his first Tottenham match, and Ronald Koeman leads new employers Southampton to Anfield to take on former Soton stars Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana (though he is still unfit).
Arsenal hope to build on their FA Cup and Community Shield success, while Chelsea and Manchester City (the favorites for the league title), look to hit the ground running in the league foot-race. There will be goal, a lot of goals, and there will be plenty of brilliant football in the first of thirty-eight match week’s to come. So, how do we think it’ll all end come Monday evening?
