Luke Shaw (LWB) – 30million pound transfer from Southampton completed

He’s had one incredible year, hasn’t he?  His performances for Southampton last season propelled him into the argument on who is the best left-back in England, and his stock rose to the point where he was selected ahead of both Ashley Cole and Kieran Gibbs for England’s 23-man squad.  He may not have featured prominently in Brazil, but the only way for Shaw is up.

He fits the bill for Manchester United in all respects.  He loves to get forward, had pace to burn, is excellent on the defensive side of the ball and is even has a fantastic delivery on him as well.  Despite United not being able to offer Champions League football next season, Shaw feel’s he made the right choice.  Coming to a club with a manager who likes to use his full backs in an attacking role, Shaw could well be set to shine.
