Marcos Rojo (CB/LB, Argentina):

At 24-years-old, he’s the youngest player on the Argentine roster, one that represents the countries best chance at lifting the World Cup since the days of Diego Maradona – Rojo will be vital to their success in Brazil this summer.

Plying his trade at Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, the versatile Rojo has made a name for himself across Europe this past season, and he looks primed to leave the Iberian nation for greener pastures elsewhere.

Capable playing in the center or on the left in the back-line, he brings an influential presence, intelligence, a fantastic work-rate and even the ability to score a goal or two.  His current valuation sits just under 6million euros, and given Sporting’s nature of being a selling club, I would eat my hat if he still puts on the famous green and white horizontal kit next season.

Interest in Rojo has grown in England, but also Spain and Italy as well, so keep your eye on a move for him before the window shuts. – Drew Thompson

Don’t confuse Rojo to become one of the best center-backs in the world, but expect him to be great for the next coming years. The 24 year old has been a tough defender for Sporting CP in the Primera Liga and played a crucial role in their second place finish this past season.

Contrary to most Argentinian players, Rojo plays with girt and a blue-collar work ethic, giving forwards and wing players a difficult time getting in the box. He’s strengths are shown in one-on-one situations as he guarantees the team that he will win the ball back.

On the offensive end is a different story. Although his passing and decision-making are suspect, he knows how to get in position to finish off set pieces and crosses both high and low.

He’s too talented to be playing in the Portuguese league for now and should move out to a Bundesliga or La Liga club. – Young Kim
