Champions League Final Prediction: Bayern Munich vs. Inter Milan

Tomorrow is the second biggest day of the year for soccer fans, aside from the World Cup Finals, as the Champions League final takes place in Madrid, with Bayern Munich squaring off against Inter Milan. These two sides have proven to be the best of the best this season, and there’s no doubt that we are in for a treat in the final matchup.

This could be Jose Mourinho‘s final match as manager of the club, as the rumors seem to intensify by the day that he’ll take over at Real Madrid next season. No matter the result here for Inter, this seems like a done deal, so I don’t think that Mourinho supporters should spend too much time looking into which result would be more favorable in terms of his chances to stay at the club.

As for the match itself, it’s a toss-up, which is to be expected of a Champions League final. Bayern Munich has won the crown four times in their history, while Inter have hoisted the trophy twice in the past (way in the past, with their last Champions League crown coming in 1965). Both teams have been dominant this season in their respective leagues, but you can bet that they want to add this one last trophy to their list of remarkable achievements in the 09/10 season.

This one will be a back and forth style game, though with Mourinho’s hold on things, you would expect it to be a low-scoring affair. Louis van Gaal will try to have his team press the issue with their attacking style, but Inter will be ready with their impressive count-attack, which makes this one hard to predict.

Inter has had the harder road to get here, and with the win over Barcelona in the semis, they seem ready to capture their first CL trophy in 45 years. Mourinho wins in his final game with the Nerazzurri…..and then bolts to Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

Prediction: Inter 2-1
