There is no denying that Bayern is one of the favourites to win the elite European club competition. By signing Harry Kane this summer, Bayern has got rid of the problem they had last season. They now have a target man who has a very good record against Manchester United. Harry Kane has already netted 4 goals for the Bavarians in as many games.
So, he will be a constant threat for Man Utd and Erik ten Hag. How Ten Hag will tackle this threat is something everyone is excited to see. Andre Onana is expected to start against Bayern. With him in between the sticks, Manchester United can have fluidity while building from the back.
Defenders
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (right-back)
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be starting this game. Man Utd needs defensive stability against Bayern and they can get that from him. So, he should start this game. He will be very important if United has to stop Koman and Sane from making an impact on this game.
Victor Lindelof (centre-back)
Raphael Varane is still recovering from injury and Harry Maguire cannot be trusted. Thus, Ten Hag will have to trust Victor Lindelof to do the job. Lindelof has improved a lot under Ten Hag and thus, he deserves this start as Varane is unavailable.
Lisandro Martinez (centre-back)
Martinez has been one of the best signings of United last season. However, he is clearly missing Varane as his partner. But, still, he should start as he is the best centre-back United have right now.
Sergio Reguilon (left-back)
Reguilon was impressive and one positive for United from that defeat to Brighton. He looks exactly like the player United needs in the left-back position. So, he has to start this game against Bayern.
Midfielders

Casemiro (defensive midfielder)
As Beth from the United Stand pointed out, Casemiro is having a horrible season. However, as United doesn’t have any other option, he would start. However, it is fair to say that United fans should not expect Casemiro to play on his own as clearly his best days are gone.
Scott McTominay (defensive midfielder)
McTominay would start because United will be looking for two defensive midfielders. Amrabat is injured and thus, he will start this game. Bayern wanted to sign McTominay as per rumours and if those rumours were true, then the Bavarians will be able to see the man they wanted to partner Kimmich in the midfield.
Bruno Fernandes (attacking midfielder)
Bruno Fernandes has to step up as Manchester United captain. Since taking over the armband from Maguire, he has been struggling. But, he will start this game. A lot will depend on Bruno in this game. Thus, it is important for Bruno to have a good game.
Forwards
Alejandro Garnacho (left-winger)
As Ten Hag learnt that playing Bruno is a horrible decision, he would look at Garnacho to handle the left wing. So, Garnacho could make his Champions League debut. However, it will be interesting to see how Garnacho does as he is starting the game. As starts so far this seasons were not fruitful for United.
Marcus Rashford (right-winger)
Rashford is expected to start on the right with United struggling to find a proper right-winger and Ten Hag not trusting Pellistri who looked sharp against Brighton. Marcus will not be playing in his favoured position. However, he could interchange his position with Garnacho.
Rasmus Hojlund (striker)
Rasmus Hojlund couldn’t get his first goal for Manchester United at Old Trafford over the weekend. But, he is the best striker United have right and thus, he will start. If you Man Utd wants to press from the forward line, they cannot rely on Martial to do that. Hojlund has to be their best choice in that regard.

Manchester United is not at the level of competing against the big teams and that too away from Old Trafford. Thus, it is expected that Bayern will score a 3-0 victory over the Red Devils. It will be a shocker if United comes on top.
However, as Bayern will play at the Allianz Arena, fans can expect to see Harry Kane getting on the score sheet. Also, you can rest assured United will struggle to score against Bayern. However, at times this season, Bayern’s defence looked dodgy. They have conceded some silly goals which has cost them games.
If United had to get anything out from this game, then Bruno Fernandes has to have an amazing game. Still, Bayern will dominate this game and will surely come out on top. Honestly, it is hard to believe that this dysfunctional Man Utd team will stand a chance against the mighty Bavarians!
