Manchester City injury news – FOUR key players ruled out vs West Ham

According to an update from Manchester Evening News, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will have to make do without four of his key players, including a summer signing who he loves.

The report confirms the obvious that Kevin De Bruyne is still ruled out. It’s thought that the Belgian maestro will be out for a significant amount of time after he picked up a lengthy injury on the opening match of this campaign.

Furthermore, the trusted source has confirmed that John Stones and Jack Grealish will not be available for selection, as the two English internationals have failed to recover from their previous injury setbacks.

Adding into the mix is the injury of Mateo Kovacic. It’s thought that the summer signing picked up an injury in the international break and according to the report, Kovacic will not feature in today’s important match away from home.

Of course, this isn’t good for Pep Guardiola. He would like to have all his best players available for selection. But we know about the scary depth that the Spanish coach possesses, so even with a multitude of injuries, we still expect a strong City lineup in every match. Given that the Champions League returns this week, there’s likely to be squad rotation anyway.
