West Ham is eying some serious talent to sign in the transfer window – And why shouldn’t they?

Given that David Moyes will manage in the Europa League next season, it’s only right that he sets his standards high and pushes the board to only sign the best of the best players. Well, he might have found his next new signing in a strange place – the relegation pile.

That’s right. Given West Ham’s best efforts to replace their former captain Declan Rice, Scottish manager Moyes has been seeking options on either end of the price spectrum. After they failed to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, they are seeking to sign another homegrown player. But this option is quite a bit older than Gallagher.

West Ham edge closer to James Ward Prowse deal

According to Football Insider, West Ham believes they are closer to signing James Ward Prowse from Southampton. The free-kick maestro, who is close to breaking the Premier League record, is seeking a new club as he is too good to play in the Championship.

Playing in the second tier of English football makes it almost impossible to break into Gareth Southgate’s England team Therefore, despite being a club legend, now is the time for Ward Prowse to seek a new club.

The report claims that West Ham is in “pole position” to sign James Ward Prowse, despite numerous Premier League clubs interested in signing him. The player is believed to be keen to return to the Premier League next season, so moving to West Ham isn’t off the cards.

Ward Prowse would relish the opportunity to play under one of the greatest Premier League managers of all time in David Moyes. Not only this, he may be pulled into signing at the London Stadium given their involvement in the Europa League next season.

Do you think West Ham will sign James Ward Prowse?
