The old saying goes “beggars can’t be choosers”, however, this is far from the case with Chelsea. After sacking Graham Potter, it seems like the world is their oyster in terms of bringing in a replacement. There are an abundance of world-class managerial minds available to the Stamford Bridge club, they just need to assess their options and not rush into a decision.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have been assessing Julian Nagelsmann, who is one of 5 managers they will interview. However, the report claims that the board has concerns about his age. Nagelsmann is 35 and the least experienced of all the options, but many dub him to be one of the greatest tactical minds in Europe.

Nagelsmann has already managed Bayern Munich this season, a side which the Blues could face if they progress in the Champions League.

Nagelsmann has shown that you don’t have be an old man to be a great manager. If anything, securing him at the helm now could do wonders for Chelsea in the future. Think about Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, the Gunners signed him as manager when he was 36 years old, so just one year older than Nagelsmann now, and is now one of the best managers in the world.

Chelsea fans won’t like to hear it, but they should learn from Arsenal. I know they got the wrong signal for Mudryk, but this time round, Arsenal are worth learning from.

Chelsea need some squad harmony. They have a squad with a value that is more than most countries. They have many young players coming through the ranks who feel helpless about their future. None of their players know how to gel with one another. Having a manager young enough they can relate to could be the catalyst which pushes them to success.

Do you think Chelsea are right to have concerns about Nagelsmann’s age?
