A Christmas gift for the fans of each Premier League team
West Ham (Current league position 16th)
The World Cup probably came at a good time for the Hammers after a worrying slide in the Premier League saw them drop to 16th and just outside of the relegation spots. There were several bright sparks from their World Cup performers including England’s Declan Rice, Brazilian Lucas Pacqueta and Nayef Aquerd from surprise outfit Morocco. It’s not unrealistic to suggest that this year’s Christmas gift will see a turn-around in club form that allays fans fears of a battle at the wrong end of the table.
Wolves (Current league position 20th)
Goal-scoring was the problem before the winter break, with only 8 league goals in the Premier League for Wolves. If the hope was for the 4 outfield World Cup-bound players to hit goal-scoring form it backfired with no goals or assists from their traveling contingent. So the ideal Christmas present for Wolves fans could be an upturn in form under new manager Julen Lopetegui who will no doubt be required to call upon all of his managerial experience at the top level in Spain.
