Now, we’re not suggesting going Mane over Salah when Salah is putting up the kind of numbers that he is. However, as a standalone option, Mane looks like a potent differential with 3 good home games in his next 5.

The Senegalese winger has an xG of 0.61 and xA of 0.12 per match this season, hugely impressive numbers for a ‘midfield’ category player on FPL. He’s averaging an eye-catching 2.82 goal attempts in the box per match and has already scored 6 goals.

We’re at a strange point in the FPL season where premium options like Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes are either suffering fitness issues or underperforming for their price tags while excellent budget options can be found in virtually every position.

This presents a unique opportunity where budgets may not be as tight and a premium differential that’s looking bright on the eye test and on underlying metrics is there for the taking.
