Worst FPL Performers of GW4:
Danny Ings (Aston Villa) – £8.0m

This was Danny Ings’ first week of the season without an attacking return, which was somewhat expected in the tough fixture against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend past.

The new Aston Villa signing has only accumulated a 0.4 npxG (non-penalty expected goals) this season, proving that he may have been overperforming in the opening fixtures. Despite being a great finisher, the lack of quality chances he has been provided with is a slight concern.

The fixtures only get tougher for The Villains, with Everton, Manchester United, and Tottenham in the next 3. With the abundance of good value FPL assets in the mid-priced forward bracket, it is hard to justify keeping Ings.

There are 2 strikers in the same price bracket that stand out right now, both with very favourable fixtures in both the short and long term – Raul Jimenez and Patrick Bamford.

Alternatively, if you can find funds from elsewhere, Ings could be a stepping stone to bring in a premium forward asset such as Ronaldo or Lukaku.
