Players who could join the Premier League on Deadline Day before the window shuts

Saúl Ñiguez from Atletico de Madrid to Chelsea

A deal that has got complicated over the last few days. Saúl was practically a done deal a few days ago and now everything turned the other way.

Koundé’s signing has a lot to do with this decision since Chelsea is shifting all of their focus on the French center-back. Atletico is asking for a lot of money for Saúl and unless the Koundé deal goes down, Chelsea would just leave things as they are.

Even though, we can’t discard this can really happen and it would be a good addition to the Blues since Saúl has had some amazing years with Atletico and has being one of the main pieces in the best years in their club history.

The only thing about this signing is that I don’t really see Chelsea needing Saúl. Don’t get me wrong because Saúl is a good addition for any club but the Blues already have Mateo Kovacic, N’golo Kante, and Jorginho in the midfield.

We’re talking about three world-class players and key pieces for last season’s Champions League trophy. By bringing in Saúl, Tuchel would have a lot of players in the position, and at some point, it would become a problem because one of them would see no minutes at all.
